Abstract (English)

This research aimed to: 1) study current conditions, problems, and competition of the original equipment manufacturing business of supplement products in Thailand; 2) compare the equilibrium effectiveness classified by characteristics of the business; 3) study value chain management factors that affect equilibrium effectiveness; and 4) propose guidelines for value chain management approaches to enhance effectiveness of dietary supplement production business in Thailand. Using a survey research method combining both quantitative and qualitative methods, a questionnaire was used to collect data from 279 representatives of supplement products in Thailand and from in-depth interviews with 21 experts. Data were analyzed by content analysis, one-way analysis of variance, t-test, and multiple regression analysis. NORTH VERSITY The research results found that 1) the original equipment manufacturing businesses in Thailand currently use strategies to create differentiation by selecting raw material suppliers that have developed new innovation extracts to be used as ingredients to prevent and solve the problem of intentionally making counterfeit products. The business has personnel problems for product research and development and there is high business competition due to the increasing trend of new competitors and existing competitors. 2) The results of comparing the equilibrium effectiveness found that businesses with different registered capital, business location, operating periods and different numbers of customers have different overall and individual aspects of finance, customer, and learning and development. Businesses with different numbers of employees have different equilibrium effectiveness in internal processes and learning and development. 3) Factors in outbound logistics, marketing and sales, service, human resource management, technology development, and purchasing affect equilibrium effectiveness. 4) There should be guidelines for developing processes in key activities and supporting the business value chain to increase the effectiveness of operations.
