Influencing factors of Chengdu residents’ purchase intention to smart home sales in the 5g era

Abstract (English)

With the improvement of technological and economic levels, implementing AI and IoT technologies greatly impacted our living standards. People paid more and more attention to the enjoyment of lifestyle the coping with their increasing incomes. More and more smart home products were launched to motivate residents’ interest in taking the leisure of lifestyle improvement. Thus, real estate development was in the trend to cope with the latest expansion for the smart home with the full utilization of 5G technology. This study took the urban residents in Chengdu as the research object, from the perspective of consumers, based on the S-O-R theoretical model, combined with perceived risk and brand cognition theory, to construct the model of this analysis. The purpose of this study was to explore the significant difference in purchase intention of the smart home of different control variables (gender, age, education, and monthly disposable income) in Chengdu, to examine the influencing mechanism of the Chengdu residents’ purchase intention on smart home based on brand awareness, perceived risk, and benefit perception, and; to put forward feasible suggestions on development strategies for smart home sales through respective influencing factors relating to the 5G era in Chengdu. Four hundred and eighty- six completed questionnaires of Sichuan citizens were collected through the online WeChat platform by random sampling in February 2023. The results showed that potential home buyers’ perception of brand awareness, perceived risk, and benefit perception significantly impact the purchase decision of smart home development. Other influencing dimensions affecting the purchase perception of brand popularity, brand image, security risk, functional risk, financial risk, product fact, experience factor, and service factor were tested and showed significant impacts, respectively.
