Under the aging population trend, the degree of aging and the attention to old-age care became a significant issue related to national policy and citizen livelihood. Health issues of the old aged group became more prominent due to the rise of disabled and semi-disabled people that affect society and medical attention. With the concern of family harmony and elderly health, smart elderly services in the aging era became one of the topics for Nanchong City in preparing the challenges of the rapid growth of the elderly population. The purpose of this study was to explore the significant difference in selection intention of smart elderly care services among groups of different control variables (gender, age, income, marital status, and health condition) in the Nanchong City of Sichuan; to examine the influencing mechanism of the Nanchong City residents' selection intention on smart elderly care services based on intergenerational relationship, trust, and subjective attitude, and; to put forward feasible suggestions on better development for smart elderly care services through respective influencing factors in Nanchong City. Three hundred ninety-five completed questionnaires of Nanchong elderly were collected through the online WeChat platform by random sampling in January and February 2023. The results showed that interpersonal relationships, trust, and subjective attitude significantly impacted selection intention by Nanchong elderly. Further discovery in emotional, consistent, and connected relationships, reliability, security, comfortability, convenience, perceived ease of use, and usefulness were among the key influencing factors that significantly impacted the acceptance of smart elderly care services in Nanchong.
