Influencing factors of enterprise human resources management on Chengdu generation z in career selection during the post-pandemic era

Abstract (English)

The global pandemic greatly impacted most aspects of the economy and society, especially the employment market. As the young generation of the labor force gradually became one of the crucial working forces, the opportunity in the labor market turned into a significant challenge in accepting this new group that started to compete with the current labor group with experiences and skills of the corporate culture. This study examined the Generation Z group in career selection through the influencing factors of enterprise human resource management in Chengdu. The purpose of this study was to explore the significant difference in enterprise human resources management on career selection among groups of different control variables of Chengdu generation Z during the post-pandemic era; to examine the influencing mechanism of the enterprise human resources management on career selection for Chengdu generation Z based on career motivation, career cognition, and career expectation during the post-pandemic era, and; to suggest feasible marketing strategies for the enterprise human resources management to improve the career selection and searching process of Chengdu generation Z during the post-pandemic era. Four hundred and twenty-eight completed questionnaires of Chengdu Generation Z were collected through the online WeChat platform by random sampling in December 2022 and January 2023. The results showed that students' career motivation, cognition, and expectation significantly influenced career selection during the post-pandemic era. Other factors impacting Generation Z's attitude of developmental motivation, utilitarian motivation, survival motivation, contribution motivation, self-awareness, difficulty cognition, social cognition, occupational cognition, regional expectation, salary expectation, unit expectation, and environmental expectation were assessed in this study. They showed significant influences on the career selection of Generation Z during the post-pandemic era, respectively.
