Because of catastrophic emergencies and the status quo of emergency rescue, combined with the identities of emergency rescue members, theoretical and practical research on the emergency rescue system for catastrophic emergencies should be strengthened. It would be the great significance to ensure the safety of public life and property. This study aimed to investigate disasters and the theory of emergency management, including the definition of disaster rescue, human behavior in life-saving events, the nature of emergency management, and ways to make the professional team identity effective. This study's objectives aimed to explore the rescue team's responsibility for the mission of disasters and emergency operations based on the influence of demographic variables; analyze the influencing factors of the identity of emergency rescue members, and; propose feasible suggestions on professional value, functionality, job satisfaction, subjective perception, and social honor. Four hundred and six persons completed questionnaires of Jiangsu Civil Emergency Rescue Members were collected through the online WeChat platform by random sampling between July 2022. The results showed that Identity dilemma, behavioral identity, interdependency, group gap comparison, social identity, cultural identity, emotional identity, value identity, and self-presentation significantly impact the member identity of the rescue team. As a result, the analysis could serve as information for recruiting civil rescue teams in life-saving missions across the nation.
