The Influence of online consumer credit finance platforms on Sichuan college students' pre-spending intention

Abstract (English)

The idea of rational consumption would wake up college students' use of Internet consumer credit. The development of Internet technology brought significant changes to our lives with Internet technology in the financial field. With the constant maturity of Internet technology, various online credit platforms gradually emerged. The number of Internet users in China surged to more than 40% of people relying on mobile payment for consumption. This study's objectives aimed to explore the current Sichuan college students' pre-spending intention based on their gender, age, and study major; investigate the consumer credit platform's influencing factors impacting college students' pre-spending intention, and; propose the proper attitudes of consumption view for college Sichuan by using consumer credit finance for the pre-spending intention. Three hundred and eighty Sichuan college students completed questionnaires through the online WeChat platform by random sampling between June and July 2022. The results showed that the low threshold, the convenience of repayment, the scope of use, transaction cost, privacy, risk of use, and protection right significantly impact students' pre-spending intention. As a result, the analysis could serve as an indication for online credit platform in considering students' pre- spending attitudes to enhance better policies in dealing with the situations.
