This study aims to analyze the structural patterns of medicine names found in the Thai television dramas Thong Ek: Mor ya tha cha long and Mor Luang. The research follows a qualitative approach, synthesizing the grammatical structure of compound nouns based on the framework of Panupong (1985), which classifies components into Head and Modifier, and Singhnoi (2019), who discusses compound nouns as a research framework. The study examines two television dramas, Thong Ek: Mor ya tha chalong and Mor Luang, with a sample of 50 medicine names. Frequency and percentage were used for statistical analysis, while content analysis was conducted with descriptive narration. The findings indicate that 50% of the medicine names consist of purely nouns, demonstrating a concise and easily comprehensible naming style. 20% of the names are compound nouns resembling sentences, typically used to directly describe the medicine's properties. Adjectives appear in 16% of the names, while verbs account for 14%, mainly emphasizing the medicine's characteristics and usage. The structure of medicine names in these dramas reflects Thai linguistic and cultural wisdom, where compound nouns serve as the primary naming element to ensure clarity and appropriateness. This study highlights that medicine naming in Thai television dramas is not merely about creating names that sound traditional or unique but also serves as a means of conveying deeper linguistic, cultural, and traditional Thai medical concepts.
